My Digital Studio - Creativity Journal

Each week on Tuesday, Stampin' Up! releases new digital content. Since I have begun using My Digital Studio more and more, I thought I would start sharing a digital project made with My Digital Studio each Tuesday.

Recently, I held my first My Digital Studio class. One of the samples I showed the attendees was this cute journal that I created using the My Digital Studio software. The software is easy to use and the terms are intuitive for stampers - paper, stamp sets, punches, embellishments, Stampin' Up! color names.

I ordered a printed version of the journal using Stampin' Up!'s professional print services. The finished journal contains blank, lined pages with colored end sheets at the front and back of the book. Also included is an attached ribbon for a place marker. The spine is printed in a coordinated color of my choice with a title included.

I am quite impressed with the quality of the book. The covers are very sturdy and the printing is beautiful. When I showed the finished project to the Hubbo, he examined the spine and was impressed with the construction of the spine such that outer spine does not crack when the book is opened wide. As a frequent user of journals, this is a feature he looks for when he purchases one. The packaging of the box was awesome. The journal was delivered in a sturdy cardboard box. Inside the box, the journal was in a bubble wrap sleeve to protect it from scratches, etc.

Here is a photo of the actual, printed journal.

In real life, the colors are just as bright as the image above. I need to work on my photography skills! The picture below gives you a glimpse at the spine of the book.

Imagine the possibilities with this journal -
  •  Gratitude journal - 365 Things I am Grateful for in 2012
  • He Said/She Said – record the cute things your little ones say
  • Prayer journal
  • Christmas Memories
  • Bucket List
  • Food/Exercise Log
  • Travel Log
What kind of journal would you create? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Stamping Vogue Tips:
  • Take advantage of Stampin' Up!'s coordinating products by choosing digital elements from a designer kit. I used the Sunny Day designer kit for my journal. It includes the background paper and coordinating embellishments.
  • Use the mirror and flip tools to make the stamps and embellishments fit your design. The bird on my journal was originally facing left and I needed it to face right - easy, peasy with the mirror tool!
  • Layer your elements and add drop shadows to create the illusion of depth on your project.
 Digital Content:
  • Sunny Day Digital Kit - included in the My Digital Studio CD version (118108) or the My Digital Studio Booster Pack (124484)
