Foxy Baby

I am well past the time of my life when my friends were having babies and I am fast approaching the time when my generation is welcoming grandchildren. My boss was recently blessed with her first grand-daughter and I realized (gasp!) that I had no suitable stamp sets for a baby congratulations card. A trip to my sister's house conveniently solved that problem. I borrowed her Fox & Friends set to make this card which I gave to my boss along with a hand-knitted baby blanket. I hope grand-mother, mother, and baby will enjoy it. I will definitely be adding this set to my next order.

Stamping Vogue Tips:
  • Use card sketches to jump start your creativity! This card is loosely based on the Splitcoast Stampers Card Sketch 330.
  • Punches are your friend. Use them to make quick embellishments to match your color scheme.
  • Pair a girly color with nice neutrals for a feminine but not "over the top" look. I love the look of the linen thread with crumb cake cardstock. If I had used a pink ribbon, it would have changed the tone of the card completely!

A Treat for a Friend

This little duo would be a great little surprise for a friend who needs a little pick-me-up. Fill the adorable little milk carton with your friend's candy treat.

Stamping Vogue Tips:
  • Both the card and the milk carton are good ways to use up some of the designer paper scraps left over from other projects.
  • Mixing different patterns from the same set of Designer Series Paper is the easy way to combine patterns. All the design work has been done for you.
  • Punches make quick work of the card. Punch out squares of DSP for the background panel, then stamp and punch out the focal point image. Another punch provides the heart embellishment.
  • Coordinate the items by using the same colors and repeating embellishments such as the little heart with a pearl accent.

Supplies:
  • Stamp Sets - Perfect Punches (W 117022, C 120516), Got Treats (W 119114, C 120627)
  • Ink - Pacific Point (111837)
  • Card Stock - Pacific Point (111350), Sahara Sand (121043), Very Vanilla (101650)
  • Designer Paper -  Blueberry Crisp (117392)

My Digital Studio - News and a Scrapbook Page

There is a lot happening in the world of digital paper crafting. Stampin' Up has just announced an update to My Digital Studio that provides users with new functionality and several new options for print products. If you already have My Digital Studio, update your software for free today. Find the free update on MyDigitalStudio.net in the Updates section here. There are also new downloads available today. Click here to see what's new!

If you don't have My Digital Studio, I would encourage you to take a look at what it can do. It's a great alternative for card-making and scrapbooking. I have recently begun playing with the software myself - in fact, all the graphics on this blog were created by me in My Digital Studio.

I have started to scrapbook our cruise to Alaska using My Digital Studio. Here is the first page I created. It was so easy! I can't wait to finish all the pages and get the book printed.

Keep on stamping!

Stampin' Up! Artistic Etchings

Sometimes you need a card just to let someone know that you care for them. This stamp set could be used for this and many other occasions by using different sentiment stamps. I love the detail of the images and the vintage look. Combining Cherry Cobbler with neutrals has a classic look! Give it a try and send a card to your special someone.

Stamping Vogue Tips:
  • A little fussy cutting pays dividends when you trim the tower and key images and pop them up using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Punch out the circle motif and ink the edges using sponge daubers and Basic Black ink.
  • A little embroidery thread ties the punched tiny tag to the key.

Supplies:
  • Stamp Sets - Artistic Etchings (W 118517, C 120573), Tiny Tags (W 118091, C 118592)
  • Inks - Cherry Cobbler (119669), Basic Black (101179)
  • Card Stock - Crumb Cake (120953), Basic Black (121045), Whisper White (100730)
  • Tools - 1 3/4 " Circle Punch (119850), Jewelry Tag punch (117190), Scallop Trim Border punch (118402)
  • Other - Embroidery thread
