Digital Tuesday - Twitterpated Scrapbook Page

Today's project was created in My Digital Studio using a scrapbook sketch from the Sketchy Thursday blog.

Download the free 30-day trial version of My Digital Studio and give this sketch a try!

 Stamping Vogue Tips:
  • The page background is Crumb Cake. I used a technique I read about on mydigitalstudio.net to layer several of the Vintage Overlays in Soft Suede to create a distressed background.
  • The long rectangles in this sketch are perfect for highlighting the beautiful papers available in My Digital Studio.
  • The Twitterpated background pages provide the perfect color palette for these adorable pictures of my nieces.
  • Use the square punch to create the long rectangles and fill them with designer paper. Rotate the rectangles until you get exactly the arrangement that you want.
  • The alignment tools allow you to arrange the photo blocks so that they line up perfectly.

My Digital Studio - Twitterpated Swatchbook

It's digital release day again! Today's release includes:
  • Sweet Little One Swatchbook template - a cute baby swatchbook template that would make a terrific brag book for Moms and Grandmas to carry in their purse. Just drag and drop your photos,  add a little journaling and send it to print!
  • Fashionable Stamp Brush Set - 14-piece stamp brush set
  • Mistyped Alphabet Stamp Brush set - An edgy alphabet with smudged typewriter look
  • Little Milestone Birthdays Greeting Card Template Set - A birthday life saver, keeping you all set with cute cards for any child’s birthday ages 1–10
  • Mom, I Love You Ensemble - Everything you need to design a fast, adorable Mother's Day gift; Easy to personalize a journal for your mom by adding tags, belly band, and ribbon for a coordinated look
  • Perfectly Penned Stamp Brush Set - 4-piece stamp brush set

Today's project uses the Twitterpated Swatchbook template. This was so easy to use. I had a great set of photos from a family photo shoot at the beach. The hardest part of the whole project was deciding which photos to use! The swatchbook is ready for you to drop in your photos. On the back of each page, I added a journaling box to include the names of the family members in the picture on the front of the page. Easy, peasy!

Here are a few of the pages:

Stamping Vogue Tips:
  • Templates are so handy when you need to make a quick project. Add your photos and journaling and you are good to go.
  • Choose your best photos to use in your project. Group them in a folder on your PC to make them easy to access and drag onto your project.
  • Use the zoom feature to get up close and personal with your photos!

Take it to Heart Valentine Easel Card

In contrast with my previous post, today's card is much more elaborate - perfect for that special someone in your life. It does take a little time to put together but the end result is worth it!

This card was one of the projects at January's stamp club meeting. Each month we do 2-3 fun projects at my stamp club. If you would like to have a girl's night out where you make fun projects each month and earn hostess benefits once every 6 months, email me to sign up for stamp club!

Do you usually make CAS (Clean and Simple) cards or are you  into more elaborate designs? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Step by step instructions are below. If you ever have questions about the techniques used in my cards, just shoot me an email!

Stamping Vogue Tips:
  • Using the largest heart framelit, cut 2 scalloped hearts from Riding Hood Red card stock.
  • Fold a piece of Whisper White card stock in half. Position the next smaller heart framelit with the fold at the top of the heart. Leave a small part of the fold inside the framelit so that it is not cut off. Run through the Big Shot.
  • Ahdere the folded white heart to one of the red hearts. Fold the upper portion of the white heart toward the top of the heart about half-way up. Place adhesive only on the portion of the white heart that you folded up. Position the second red heart exactly on top of the lower red heart and press to adhere.
  • Cut a heart from the Twitterpated Designer Series paper. Place adhesive around the entire perimeter of the underside of the heart. Position the pleated ribbon around the edge of the heart. Adhere to the upper red heart with Dimensionals.
  • Cut and emboss a Baja Breeze heart and layer it on the card.
  • Stamp the bicycle heart image and die cut using the framelits. Adhere this layer to the card.
  • Stamp the banner image using Stazon. Stamp the sentiment on the banner with Riding Hood Red ink. Use a blender pen and Blushing Bride ink to color the edge of the banner. Trim the banner with Paper Snips. Place on the card using Dimensionals.
  • Use the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit Die to die cut a heart from Riding Hood Red.
  • Stamp the smallest heart image using Blushing Bride ink and die cut it with the smallest Framelit Heart.
  • Layer these hearts near the bottom of the white heart inside the card using Dimensionals. These hearts will provide the anchor point for the easel card when it is opened for display.
  • This card is larger than I usually make. It fits in Stampin' Up!'s Medium Whisper White Square Envelopes (107289).

  • Stamp Set - Take It to Heart (W 125520 C 125522), Loving Thoughts (W 125843 C 125845)

Apothecary Art Birthday

My stamp club group will be meeting on Tuesday night. Today's card will be one of our projects. The other 2 projects will remain a surprise until Tuesday night. I love the way the stamps in this set coordinate with the Labels Collection framelits. I am by far not the world's best at coloring stamp images but these images make it easy.
Apothecary Arts is available in the new Occasions catalog. Let me know if you need a copy!

Stamping Vogue Tips:
  • Use a square punch to easily cut flag ends in the sentiment layer and border.
  • The Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder adds to the elegant look. It's my favorite embossing folder.
  • Basic Pearls include a variety of sizes and make it easy to highlight the flowers in the stamp image.

Supplies:
  • Stamp Set - Apothecary Art (W 125525, C 125527)
  • Ink - Pear Pizzazz (119784), Baja Breeze (111833), Jet Black Stazon (101406)
  • Card Stock - Pear Pizzazz (119795), Baja Breeze (111352), Basic Gray (121044), Whisper White (100730)
  • Designer Series Paper - Twitterpated (125406)

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge and Take It to Heart

Today, I played along with the Freshly Made Sketches blog. This card showcases the Take it to Heart stampset and the Twitterpated suite of products from the Occasions mini catalog.

  • The pleated ribbon is also part of the Twitterpated suite of products in the mini catalog. I love the interest and texture that it adds to the card.
  • The Take it to Heart set has heart images in multiple sizes with themes that are great for Valentine's Day and beyond!
